Colon gets chance in rotation

With the ineffectiveness of Phil Hughes which led him to a stint on the disabled list veteran pitcher Bartolo Colon will make his first start of the season tonight against the Toronto Bluejays at Rogers Centre in Toronto. Colon was a non roster invite to spring training and the former CY young award winner impressed the Yankees enough to make the team as the long reliever. Colon has had a very good season so far and has pitched well and now with Hughes out Colon will get his first chance to prove that he can still be a Major League starter and if he continues to pitch well he could become a mainstay in the rotation and give the Yankees a tough decision to make once Hughes returns from the disabled list.
