Another Snow Blog

Posted: April 1, 2011 by fmed77 in Uncategorized

I’m doing a follow-up to my blog post last week about snow in March. Since we are now officially in April, and are projected to get about 3 to 6 inches of snow by Friday night, I felt the need to do a post about the continuing craziness of winter, and the fact that it doesn’t seem to want to let us go.

This new bout of snow has prompted me to do some research (again) about significant snowfall in the month of April in our area. I found a CBS News article dating back to April 8, 2003 detailing the effects of snow and freezing rain in our area that killed 18 people!

So it looks like this snowfall today will not be breaking any records, but it will be frustrating. When can we finally put the jackets in storage and start wearing sweatshirts and other spring gear!?

I’m wondering if the continued winter weather this spring will mean that we could have scorching temperatures come October. Weather can be unpredictable that way, and it wouldn’t surprise me if we ended up having a heat wave on Halloween.
