Internet Speeds Up in South Korea

South Korea, which is already the holder of the fastest internet connection, plans to increase internet speed in everyone’s home by the end of 2012. It is expected that every home in the country will be able to connect at one gigabit per second. South Korea is already way ahead than the number 2 and 3 connections, Hong Kong and Japan. Everyone has to pay around less than $27 a month. The United States has to pay around $46 a month for “service that is molasses by comparison.” The South Korean government wants to be prepared for the future devices and systems coming out, even though some are still being developed. These include, 3-D TV, Internet Protocol TV, high-definition multimedia, and gaming and videoconferencing. South Korea has now reached the 13th largest economy in the world.  Although Internet access allows for many great things, there are still some concerns about the issue. Will such a fast connection lead to more of an Internet addiction?
